Confirmation - Wednesdays 7:15-8:15pm 7-8th Grades
Confirmation at First Lutheran Church begins in 7th grade with a weekend retreat, challenge course, and high ropes experience before the beginning of the school year. We meet one another, get to know one another, and learn to trust one another. Then as the school year, both 7-8th graders gather together each week.
We have created a two year curriculum split around the the Old and New testaments and Luther's Small Catechism. During the two year program, youth experience small and large group conversations, games, activities, service, study, and more.

During their 7th grade year, students participate in service along with their families at a local service organization. The take sermon note and participate as acolytes.
In the midst of the 8th grade confirmation year, we take another weekend retreat in midwinter as a chance to grow in
fellowship and consider the various aspects that make up Christian Worship. Then, following this weekend, the youth create a worship service and in small groups, lead worship at a local senior care institution.
9th Graders begin their school year with their final confirmation retreat. As the leaves turn they are considering what to write for their statement of faith. This is shared with the congregation in the following weeks before they are confirmed on Reformation Sunday.
