Summer 2010 is going to be full of opportunities for the entire congregation!

Below you will find information about activities for youth, families, and adults. Check deadlines for sign-ups as some are approaching sooner than later. Forms for registration are linked here on the page. Contact Chris Richards or Pr. Beth for more information about the programs outlined below!

Also, remember that if the costs associated with any of our youth and family programs is a financial burden for the participants, you can complete a fee reduction request and drop it off to the church. Our goal for our fund-raising with the Youth Stock program is that everyone will be able to participate regardless of financial issues.

Voyageur Canoeing the Apostle Islands: Camp Amnicon

Youthworks! Mission Trip to Thunder Bay, Ontario!
July 18th - 23rd, 2010 ( Sun - Fri )
Signup Deadline is May 19th

We are headed to Ontario for some service and mission work to those in need in Thunder Bay. Our week will be spent with 70 others from around the country and the staff of Youthworks! on site. Each day we will meet the need of those around us, this may include everything from working in food shelves, soup kitchens, clothing banks, children's day programs, homeless shelters, construction, and more. Each day is an adventure and we'll all be in it together! We put our trust in God, our butt's in the seats, and head out to be the hands and feet of Christ to our neighbors in need!

  • Cost is $250
  • $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot ( nine spots )
  • Final Payment due June 16 (Non-refundable once payment has been sent to camp)

Junior High Summer Events
These events are for youth entering 7-9th grades

Junior High Flambeau River Ramble: Camp Amnicon
August 8-13th, 2010 ( Sun. - Fri. )

Head into Whitewater in your trusty canoe with a companion and all your gear. God is with you as you navigate rocks and rapids, camp out each night, cook over the fire, and leave all of the noise and crazyiness behind. Unplug from your daily life and Re-plug into your faith. Get to know yourself, new friends, and rekindle your faith relationship. Challenge yourself and your courage and jump into a new adventure! This is a favorite adventure here at First Lutheran, are you ready to give it your best?!

  • Cost is $275
  • $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot ( nine spots )
  • Final Payment due July 8th (non-refundable once payment has been sent to camp)
  • Sign-up Deadline, Final Payment, and all paper work due on ASAP! Remember, Medical form needs a DOCTOR signature!!@!!!!!
  • Fee Reduction is available upon request to Chris Richards or the Youth Board if the fee is a financial burden to your family.
No Canoe Experience Necessary - We train onsite!



FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH Bible Camp Week  JR HIGH
Luther Crest Bible Camp
July  25-30th

Witnesses! (Grades 7-9)

Come to camp for a whole week! Each cabin has about 8 campers and a caring, Christian, college-age, counselor. Enjoy meaningful worship, active Bible talks, crazy games, arts and crafts, canteen, fun at the beach, and taking care of the Nature Room animals. The faith journey begins on Sunday and ends at noon on Friday.

  • Cost: $250 Forms are posted below along with links to forms and information.
  • First Lutheran Church will cover $100 of the Cost for each camp.
  • Price above have been lowered $100 to reflect that subsidy from Youth Stock and The Church Budget!!!
  • Signup deadline is MAY 19th!!!

Jr. High Pathways Bible Camp

We have not chosen a specific week to go to Pathways Bible Camp  ( Camp Emmaus ) this summer, but if your Junior High child is interested in participating with Pathways, we will support them with the same $100 Subsidy that we are putting towards our other campers!!!

Here's how:
1. Go to Pathwaysbiblecamps.org
2. Register for a camp session your family chooses!
3. BEFORE CAMP, Let us know at First Lutheran Church which camp your child has signed up for and we will send the subsidy directly to Pathways Bible Camp!
4. Go to camp and have an amazing time.
5. If our staff are available, we'll make every effort to visit our youth at camp!!!
6. We can post photos and stories online from camp as well!

We are corporate members at Pathways Bible Camp so the member fee is the fee you should expect to pay for any camping experiences.

Morning MusiCamp! at FLC Bemidji
June 14-18th
1st - 6th Grades

Calling all Junior Choristers and young musicians at First Lutheran Church! 
 
Sign-up now for a great opportunity that will take place here at church the third week of June!  A special music camp is being designed for you that will include many learning opportunities right here at church.  Guest musicians, fun music games, group singing, rhythm activities, and special concerts will all take place here at FLC!
 
Call the office at 444-5302 to sign-up.  The camp is designed for 1st through 6th graders.

This event is for Pre K - 4th graders

Vacation Bible School
 August 30th-Sept. 2nd ( Mon. - Thurs. )  8am - Noon each day!
We'll learn about Bible stories through drama, games, and crafts! Fun for all ages with youth and adults leaders and fun everywhere!

Dragon Boat Festival! FLC Holy Rowers bring the fight!
August 5-7, 2010

This year we are fielding a Dragon Boat Team: The FLC Holy Rowers!
Sign-ups will begin soon - Look for more information in the mail and in the Church announcements! Thanks to the four folks who suggested the Holy Rowers name! Bruce Younggren, Dorothy Boe, and two anonymous namer Mc'namertons.


Adult Summer Events
