DOCUMENTARY: Sacred Breath: First Lutheran Church of Bemidji's Pipe Organ Project
Over six years in the making, come along as First Lutheran Church of Bemidji's pipe organ committee searches for the right way to have a new pipe organ built. Their many considerations include their congregation, their church's structure and the greater Bemidji communities. Their research takes them to Saint Johns in Park Rapids, MN, Saint Andrew's in Grand Rapids, MN, and elsewhere before deciding on a world-class pipe organ builder. Their new pipe organ, the first of its kind, includes Native flute pipes "stops" replicating the sound of the Native flute.
Documentary interviews include: Pastor Corey Fuhrman, Jon Romer, Sarah Carlson, Dr. Beverly Everett, Dr. Jim Bensen, Dr. Anton Treuer & more. Produced and directed by Scott C. Knudson.

November 5, 2017 at 3:00 PM with fellowship to follow
The celebration for the completion of the Sanctuary Revitalization Project is November 5, 2017 at 3:00 PM. This will be a wonderful celebration involving First Lutheran's Adult Choir, Women's Choir, Bell Choir, as well as, Bemidji State University's Concert Choir, Womens Choir and a brass ensemble. We will rededicate the Sanctuary to the glory of God, and dedicate the new Casavant Pipe Organ to many years of praise and thanksgiving. The new pipe organ will be featured under the skillful hands of our Music Minister, Sarah Carlson. The celebration is free and open to the public.
First Lutheran Church voted at a special congregational meeting on August 25, 2016 to move ahead with the Sanctuary Revitalization Project. To read more about this exciting project, check out the brochure below. The stop list is available through the Casavant Link below.
